Autographed assessed as "Authentic" by JSA and encapsulated by BVG. Al Simmons, a Polish immigrant born Aloysius Szymanski, was a hard-hitting slugger for Connie Mack’s great Philadelphia Athletic teams of the late 1920s and 1930s. Simmons (d.1956) knocked in more than 100 runs in each of his first 11 seasons in the league. Presented is a beautifully signed 3-1/2 x 5-1/2" postcard depicting Simmons as a coach for the Cleveland Indians. The circa 1950 blue ink signature presents (“5-6”) in strength and clarity.
