The first-ever player to post 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases in the same season, former St. Louis Browns star Ken Williams also snapped Babe Ruth’s run of single-season home run titles, taking the honor in 1922. The offered Hillerich & Bradsby Ken Williams post-career professional model bat was issued to an unknown player and side written in 1932. The (31.2-oz/34”) white ash signature model weapon features a “Bone Rubbed” stamping near the center brand and a Hornsby-style knob. Moderate use is evident with a series of vintage nails about the barrel and a 9” H-shaped handle crack. On the hitting surface, grease pencil “side writing” reads: “Andy Nelson 6.24.32.” While there are no records of a player of that name in either the big leagues or minors in 1932, he enjoyed this bat at some level and was requesting additional models.
