Description

Logging the franchise’s last winning campaign of the 1930s, the 1936 Washington Senators were fleet afoot (leading the American League in triples and stolen bases) but lacked in the power department (second-to-last in home runs), as they compiled 82 wins and a third-place finish. The offered baseball is autographed by (12) members of that ’36 Washington roster. The medium-toned unofficial sphere (grade “5”) is smaller than a regulation baseball, measuring approximately 8-1/2” in diameter. The black-ink fountain pen scripts, meanwhile, remain crisp and legible, averaging (“6-7”) strength. Includes: Sweet Spot: Whitehill; North Panel: DeShong, Hill, unidentified and Millies; South Panel: B. Harris (manager), Stone, unidentified and Weaver; West Panel: Powell, unidentified and Marberry. Full photo LOA from James Spence Authentications.
