As he inched closer to the 3,000-hit plateau, former Cincinnati Reds fixture Pete Rose was issued and signed this Hillerich & Bradsby (33.2-oz/34-1/2”) “S2” signature model weapon during the 1977 season. The uncracked ash bat is autographed by Rose (black Sharpie, “10” strength”) on the barrel and shows no game use, though it has vintage black marker notations of “14” on the knob and barrel end. The model number, length and weight match those on Rose’s H&B ordering records for 1977. Full photo LOA from John Taube, PSA/DNA (for bat only).
PSA/DNA full photo LOA (for bat authenticity only) cert/hologram #1B01895. The conclusion on the LOA states: "After a thorough examination of this Pete Rose professional model bat, and its player use characteristics, it is our opinion the bat is authentic and was manufactured for promotional use during the referenced labeling period."
