A principal on World Series winners in both Boston (1912) and Cleveland (1920), former catcher Les Nunamaker was issued this professional model war club during his 12-year career. Turned by Hillerich & Bradsby, the (45.2-oz/35-3/4”) block-letter (last name only) weapon hails from the 1916-1919 labeling period, as evidenced by the “dash-dot-dash” center brand. With a 9” handle crack representing the bat’s demise, heavy use is evident with surface marks throughout, grain swelling and checking about the barrel, a small chip on the knob and a scattering of vintage batboy nails at the barrel’s end.
