Before he became a workhorse for the Detroit Lions, Lou Creekmur established himself as one of the most versatile weapons in the collegiate ranks while at Virginia-based William and Mary College. Offered is a signed College All-Stars jersey worn by the Hall of Famer during a 17-7 pasting of the NFL champion Philadelphia Eagles at Chicago’s Soldier Field in 1950. This blue satin-like pullover garment boasts Creekmur’s number “61” sewn to the front and back in white satin twill. On the back “1,” Creekmur’s black marker autograph and inscription of “HOF 96” shows (“8-9”) quality. Ten red felt five-point stars are sewn to each white shoulder panel, and red-white-and-blue patterns line the sides. At the lower portion, a crotch flap features two sets of three buttons to facilitate proper fit. Within the flap, a “Wilson” label is accompanied by a size “46” flap tag and a laundering instructions tag. The gridiron relic shows appropriate single-event wear. Comes with an LOA signed by Creekmur, as well as an LOA from Lou Lampson.
