Among the unsung heroes providing protection for Johnny Unitas, left tackle Bob Vogel was an integral part of the Baltimore Colts offense from 1963 through 1972. The offered Colts road jersey was worn by the five-time Pro Bowler during the latter portion of his career. This white dureen pullover garment features “72” sewn to the front, back and sleeves in blue tackle twill and “VOGEL” sewn to a name plate atop the back number in like fashion. Blue-and-white striped dazzle cloth panels line the shoulders, and the vented left front tail is home to a vintage “Sand-Knit” Baltimore Colts exclusivity tag and a “Sand-Knit” size “52” tag. All-original and unaltered, the gridiron relic shows solid game wear with dirt and grass stains throughout, and puckering and minimal fraying about the twill components.
