Description

“And down the stretch they come…” Here is an elusive 1930s Seabiscuit Type 1 photograph (C.C. Cook) and fourteen additional programs. The approximately 8x10 sepia-toned picture portrays the regal stallion with jockey J. Pollard. Despite slight creasing and obverse flaking, the image is still crystal clean with a bold back stamp. Reviewed and encapsulated as Type 1 by PSA/DNA. Also present are thirteen vintage Preakness programs. Included are 1942, 1946, 1948, 1949, 1952, 1954, 1955, 1957, 1958 (one not Preakness), 1959, 1963, 1964 (with pin) and 1965. An additional 1958 racing program is also included. With deference to inner pencil markings, the publications generally present (VG to EX).
