Description

These three jackets can be divided equally to celebrate both of the Big Apple’s Major League Baseball squads. Allow us to explain.

1970s Game-Worn New York Yankees Jacket a navy-blue satin-like button-down jacket with “NY” sewn to the left breast in white tackle twill and a 4-1/2”-diameter canvas “top hat” logo patch sewn to the left sleeve. Blue-and-white striped stretch ribbed cotton lines the collar, waistline and sleeve endings. Within the collar, a “McAuliffe” label is accompanied by a size “38” tag. While we are unable to link the garment to a specific player, the tagging is consistent with that of major league jackets from the late-1960s and early 1970s. The jacket shows heavy wear with puckering about the twill logo and scratches on the buttons.

Dennis Cook Signed Game-Worn 1998-2001 New York Mets Jacket a black nylon pullover garment with the club’s “NY” logo sewn to the left breast in blue-on-orange and Cook’s number “27” sewn to the left sleeve in blue-on-white-on-orange triple twill (with the latter layer showing a “shadow” effect). Just below the logo on the left breast, Cook’s silver marker autograph projects (“8-9”) strength and clarity. Blue-orange-and-black striped stretch ribbed cotton lines the two-button collar, waistline and sleeve endings. Within the collar, a “Starter” label is accompanied by a size “XL” flap tag. Light wear.

2000 “Subway Series” Jacket a satin-like button-down garment with the Yankees’ “NY” logo sewn to the navy-blue left breast in white twill and the Mets’ “NY” logo sewn to the light-blue right breast in orange pile-on-blue felt. (A Mets skyline themed logo patch resides on the right sleeve.) A “Starter” size “XL” label resides within the collar. This novelty retail garment shows medium wear and has a series of faint stains on the upper back.
