Pinch-hitter extraordinaire Jerry Lynch donned this Pittsburgh Pirates warm-up jacket during his first tour of duty (1954-1956) at Forbes Field. This black wool button-down garment features black leather sleeves and the club’s familiar “P” logo sewn to the left breast in yellow-colored pile. There are two cotton-lined front pockets with leather opening slits, and within the collar, a vintage size “46” tag is accompanied by a cloth hanger. Within the satin-lined left interior, a “Butwin” label has a vintage black marker notation of “14” and is accompanied by a “GluvElf” dry cleaning instructions tag. Black stretch ribbed cotton lines the collar, waistline and sleeve endings. The item shows heavy wear with two minor interior collar tears and minimal fraying about the “P” logo.
