Eclipsing the 2000-hit plateau and wrapping up a brilliant Hall of Fame career, former backstop Johnny Bench wore and signed this Cincinnati Reds warm-up jacket during his 1983 swan song. The red satin-like button-down garment features white shoulder panels and the “C Reds” logo sewn to the lower left front in white twill. On the left shoulder panel, Bench’s vintage red-ink autograph has endured ink migration but still manages (“6”) quality. Within the right button path, a strip tag has chain-stitched notations of “Bench 83-46.” Within the collar, a “Wilson” size “46” label resides just below a satin-like hanger. Moderate wear.
Red-and-white striped stretch ribbed cotton lines the collar, waistline and sleeve endings.
