Hall of Fame backstop Gary Carter wore and signed this New York Mets warm-up jacket during his tenure (1985-1989) in Queens. The blue knit zippered garment features an “NY” logo sewn to the left breast in orange pile on blue twill, “CARTER” embroidered across the back in orange-on-white block-style characters, and “8” sewn to the left sleeve in like fashion. Just above the name on the back, Carter’s blue marker signature shows (“9”) strength. Light wear. Auction LOA from JSA (for autograph).
Blue-orange-and-white striped stretch ribbed cotton comprises the 4”-wide collar, waistline and sleeve endings and a “Starter” size “XL” tag resides within the collar. Additionally, a fabric content flap tag is sewn within the left side seam.
